Legal approaches to ecosystem services and the recognition of the rights of nature

The goods and services that ecosystems provide to humans have generated a new vision of nature, assigning economic value to every aspect of our environment. Modern law is influenced by this new understanding of the environment, which is driven by the utilities it can produce. Does this concept of environment align with the recognition of specific rights to nature? There is much we can learn from different constitutional and legislative documents from many parts of the world that can inspire new structures of contemporary law.
