Biosketch

I am associate professor in Psychobiology and Physiological Psychology at the DLS of UniTS, where since 2008 I am the head of the EEG Lab.

Currently I am: (1) Director of the post-graduate School in Neuropsychology; (2) co-organizer of “The Kanizsa Lecture” and the “Trieste Symposium on Perception and Cognition” (3) Coordinator for the Academic Guidance system (Psychology sector) of the Department of Life Sciences.

I graduated in Psychology and obtained the PhD in Experimental Psychology from the University of Trieste in 2003 with a thesis on the visuo-motor transformation of hand movements. As Post-Doc I spent two years at the Department of Neuroscience of the University of Parma with prof. Maurizio Gentilucci; two years at the Scuola Superiore di Studi Umanistici of the University of Bologna with prof. Nicoletta Caramelli and one year at SISSA - International School for Advanced Studies with prof. Tim Shallice.

My research interests cover these fields: Gesture and Language, Perception and Action; Motor control with Parkinson's Disease patients, Perceptual Learning, and Dyslexia.
