Agrotur+ Local products and tourism in the Karst region

Large International Projects with DSV as partner

Agrotur+ Local products and tourism in the Karst region is a capitalization project funded by Interreg VIA Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 that will last 24 months (01.08.2023-31.07.2025). Agrotur+ has 6 partners (3 in Italy, 3 in Slovenia): 3 Universities/Public Research Organisations, 3 Associations of small-medium enterprises (SMEs) active in wine production and tourism. The 3 research partners are: Agricultural Insitute of Slovenia (Ljubljana), acting as Lead partner (LP), the University of Nova Gorica (Slovenia), and University of Trieste, which is project's partner n. 2 (PP2). According to the call for capitalization projects, these 3 Partners are defined as “givers” of emerging scientific knowledge and technologies relevant for local food production and tourism, which were developed in the previous Agrotur II project. Accordingly, the 3 SME Associations are defined as “takers”, with the task to facilitate transfer and uptake of knowledge and technologies by their SME members.

Sabina Passamonti is the PP2 team manager, with the responsibility of coordinating PP2 tasks in the project, which are two: 1) the transfer of scientific knowledge to direct stakeholders; 2) pilot study. Concerning the first task, PP2 will participate in: a) the external activities (events, targeted meetings, conferences, and a summer school for experts) of the project to provide expert information on correct nutrition and wine consumption for consumers and will contribute to the creation of digital information material (short topics and scientific news for social channels, information material written and illustrated, photo and video collections). Concerning the second task (Pilot study), PP2, in collaboration with the LP, will complete a study on the pharmacological effects of grape polyphenols (anthocyanins) on the biliary secretion by liver and the blood biomarkers of cholestasis.
