The journal "STUDIA GEOBOTANICA"  was established in 1980 and remained active until 2003.

Edited by the Institute and Botanical Garden of the University of Trieste and, afterwords, by the Geobotany and Plant Ecology Section, Department of Biology, the journal published scientific articles, reviews and monographs in the field of Geobotany.

All the published works had been submitted to an anonymous peer-review process managed by an international editorial board.
