Biosketch
Francesco Marcatto is an assistant professor (Tenured/RTD-b) in Work and Organizational Psychology (M-PSI/06) at the Life Sciences Department of the University of Trieste.
He earned his Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of Trieste in 2009, where he later worked as a post-doc and contract researcher.
From 2015 to 2021, he was the co-founder and scientific director of Mindiply Ltd. (London & Brighton, UK), a start-up specializing in the development of evidence-based software applications dedicated to managing workgroups, project and task management, and shared decision-making (www.mindiply.com).
For several years, he has taught Work and Organizational Psychology in in the psychology programs of the University of Trieste.
Currently, he coordinates the Work & Organizations Lab at the Department of Life Sciences of the University of Trieste. His research activity mainly includes the following two research lines: (1) basic and applied research on organizational well-being (investigation of relationships between constructs, evaluation of the effectiveness of prevention interventions, development of new theoretical models) and (2) development and testing of new psychometric tools for the evaluation of constructs related to organizational well-being (e.g., work-related stress, job satisfaction, turnover intention, personality dimensions associated with workplace deviance).
Francesco Marcatto is the author of several articles published in international peer-reviewed journals. He is a full member of the European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology (EAWOP), an international member of the American Psychological Association (APA), and an affiliated member of the Italian Association of Psychology (AIP) in the Psychology for Organizations section. He serves as editorial manager for the journal PlosOne, as a review editor for the journal Frontiers in Psychology (Organizational Psychology section), and as an ad hoc reviewer for several international journals of the field.
