It is upcoming a AIRC Campus lecture by Fabrizio d’Adda di Fagagna, titled “DNA Damage in Cancer and Aging”, taking place on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 13:00 in Building D, Room 3B (Campus Piazzale Europa).
Students and professors are invited to attend.
We kindly ask you to register for the seminar using the following link (registration helps us manage attendance): https://forms.gle/JwaNHneBPchxfHWy5
The seminar will be followed by a round table discussion organized by students of the Degree Program in Functional Genomics, aimed at undergraduate and graduate students interested in exploring research and career-related topics.
AIRC Campus is the initiative through which AIRC, Italy’s leading cancer research funding agency, engages with university students—offering the opportunity to learn about the Foundation and meet researchers directly supported by its programs: https://campus.airc.it/
This semester’s collaboration between the Master's Degree Program in Functional Genomics and AIRC Campus focuses on molecular mechanisms involved in DNA damage signaling, a central theme in both cancer and aging, with broad implications for current and future healthcare. Given the relevance of the topic, students from other degree programs, PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and faculty members are warmly invited to attend.
Fabrizio d’Adda di Fagagna received his academic and doctoral training in Trieste and has built an exceptional career in the field of DNA damage regulation in cancer and aging. His seminal discoveries—such as replicative senescence, oncogene-induced senescence, and the recent identification of cis-acting non-coding RNAs in DNA damage signaling—are now part of standard undergraduate curricula.
Currently, he leads research laboratories at the IFOM – Istituto Fondazione di Oncologia Molecolare ETS (Milan) and the IGM-CNR “Luigi Luca Cavalli-Sforza” (Pavia).
When:Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 13:00
